Dr. Serife Simsek is a highly regarded Breast Cancer Specialist, focusing on both benign and malignant breast diseases. With extensive training and surgical residencies in both Turkey and Italy, she is a skilled practitioner in general surgery, with a subspecialty in breast cancer surgery.

She earned a master’s degree in Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Surgery from the prestigious European Institute of Oncology and Milan University, Italy. Dr. Simsek had the opportunity to work closely with the renowned Prof. Umberto Veronesi in Italy for three years. Prof. Veronesi is known for pioneering breast-conserving surgery, including quadrantectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy, techniques that have revolutionized breast cancer treatment.

Returning to Turkey, Dr. Simsek became an Associate Professor at Ankara University Hospital. She also spent 11 years at one of Istanbul’s leading private health institutes before moving to Dubai seven years ago.

Dr. Simsek is one of the most respected female breast surgeons, recognized for her expertise in conservative surgeries, such as modified radical mastectomies, nipple-sparing mastectomies, skin-sparing mastectomies, and the removal of breast lumps (e.g., fibroadenomas, phyllodes tumors). She is also skilled in advanced techniques like ROLL/SNOLL (Radio-Occult Lesion Localization) for non-palpable breast lesions and sentinel lymph node biopsy.

Throughout her career, Dr. Simsek has contributed to significant research in breast cancer treatment, particularly in breast conservation surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, pregnancy and breast cancer, intraoperative radiotherapy following breast-conserving surgery, and radio-occult lesion localization. Her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Simsek is an active member of the Turkish Surgical Association and various international and national scientific and surgical organizations, as well as nonprofit breast cancer groups.
